An "EGG"citing Day

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you never had to worry about your eggs breaking accidentally?   The fourth grade students at BES worked as packaging engineers to design drop proof packaging for their eggs. Take a sneak peak as these young engineers test their packages.  I am sure the manager of the commissary would love to see their designs!

Have you seen a leprechaun lately?

Hi Boys and Girls-
Someone or something keeps stealing my dog toys and messing with my doggie bed. I think there is a leprechaun in my house. Please keep your eyes open for this sneaky little guy - I'm afraid that he may sneak into my mom's teaching bag and show up at BES unannounced. Take care.
Your friend,
STEMdog

Little Bits Electrical Engineering Challenge

The fourth and fifth grade students recently completed an electrical engineering challenge using Little Bits. Students worked with a partner to complete a series of guided challenges which helped them understand the function of each module. Then engineering teams were challenged to design and create a prototype of a battery powered vehicle. It was wonderful to watch the students apply all that they have learned this year about energy, electricity, and simple machines to accomplish this challenge.
